How volunteering helps the Buddina State School students
In the past we have raised funds to purchase additional resources for the school:
“Prep A have used your wonderful donation to purchase some lego, lego figurines, and some bead boards and beads. These are all valuable resources for developing fine motor skills in a fun way. Thank you so much for your ongoing support to the children of Buddina, your work is much appreciated.”
“We spent our $250 on The Comprehension Box (Green) which the students starting using today. All were very keen to get reading and have fun while doing it. Thank you, it is great to have such a lovely resource in our room.”
You may even notice this sticker in the front of your child’s Home Reader.
There are many ways you can become involved with the P&C at Buddina
This role involves liaising with your child’s classroom teacher and reporting to a monthly meeting (at present these are held on the third Monday of the month at 8:45 am in the school staffroom.)
Your child’s teacher will be asking for a volunteer to be the Parent Rep.
All primary caregivers of children attending Buddina State School, staff members of the school and any adult interested in the school can become a member of the P&C.
P&C membership is free and enables you to vote at P&C meetings.
Please fill in the Application for P&C Membership for 2020 which you can download below and email back to the P&C if you would like to become a member. We would love for you to join us.Download Buddina P&C Membership Application Form 2020
P&C General Meetings
The P&C meet monthly, we meet on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm in the staffroom.
Decisions are made at the P&C meeting regarding the distribution of funds raised and planning for the future.
Volunteering some time
Tuckshop – The P&C’s core business is the Wave Break Café, our school tuckshop, which operates 5 days per week. We employ 2 part-time staff and rely on volunteers to assist them to ensure the smooth running of the service. Assistance is required each morning from 8:45 am – 10:45 am, please see Kris or Tania in the tuckshop if you can help.
The P&C is also involved with the Commonwealth Bank and their School Banking Program. Our volunteer banking co-ordinator, Jennie, also looks for assistance each Thursday and would appreciate any time you have spare.
We look forward to working with you to support the wonderful education that is offered to all students at Buddina State School.
